The goal of this major release is to increase the throughput on the server from 100 to 1000 processed jobs per hour. Then we can add more distributed factories with other browsers and configurations.
- Rename ShotClient to ShotFactory.
- Refactor ShotFactory source code files.
- Reduce the load on the ShotServer: multi-page merging must be done on ShotFactory, not on ShotServer.
- Eliminate the need for HTTPS by using a nonce.
- Installation instructions for ShotFactory.
- Test phase for new factories.
- Zip file download of all shots of one site (idea by Holger Stitz).
- Simplify submit form.
- High-level browser selector.
- Remove scrolling page count input fields.
- Select browsers with or without Flash.
-
The idea for this major version is to create a friendly online community where web developers can discuss their designs in different browsers.
- Optional user registration and login.
- Move finished jobs back to the queue with one click (job owner only).
- Private screenshots (for registered users).
- Screenshot comments and discussion forum.
- Voting or rating system for interesting designs.
- RSS feeds for front page news and releases.
